Bio

  

Ian Burns is an award winning singer-songwriter from the Macarthur district of NSW. 

Ian began his recording career in 2014 and has recorded 4 studio albums after just completing his new album with producer Simon Johnson at Hillbilly Hut Studios, Cooranbong NSW. 

Ian’s new album, “California” was released in December of 2021, in the wake of his recent success with his January win at the Australian Country Music People's Choice Awards for Best Album with Two Sides Of Me in 2020 and followed up with his win of Best Male Vocal in January 2021. 

Ian’s album, Two Sides of Me was also a top 10 album for Traditional Country Music of Australia. 

The album featured some of Australia’s best musicians and enjoyed radio chart success. 

At the 2021 Tamworth Country Music Festival, Ian won The Tamworth Songwriters Association Award for best song in the Local Hero’s section with his song “Think Again” this song is included on his new album “California”, this, following his win in 2018 at The National Country Songwriting Contest in Alt / Blues / Bluegrass for his song, “Best Friend Is Whiskey”  ( from the “Twp Sides Of Me” album and was a finalist in Best Male Vocal at the Australian Country Music People’s Choice Awards. 

In 2022 Ian is performing live, either solo or with his band.
